This is a Heidenhain sealed absolute angle encoder from the RCN 8380 series with 60mm hollow through shaft diameter dimensions with integrated stator coupling. With accuracies of up to ±2 arc seconds, absolute angle encoders provide the absolute position value immediately after switch-on or after a disturbance without prior axis movement. The HEIDENHAIN RCN8380 7KS12-W9 encoder photoelectrically scans pure binary patterns on a glass graduated disk to determine the absolute position value. RCN723 uses EnDat 02 (synchronous serial) as Data interface with incremental signals of 32768 line counts and absolute position values/rev of 2*23 = 8 388 608.
