HEIDENHAIN ROD 426 rotary encoders have integrated bearings and a solid shaft. The encoder shaft is connected with the measured shaft through a separate rotor coupling. The coupling compensates axial motion and misalignment (radial and angular offset) between the encoder shaft and measured shaft.
