On REXROTH INDRAMAT Controllers from Machine-tools, this optical fiber cable is used to transmit data between the BOSCH Rexroth INDRAMAT control MTC-R enables operation with SERCOS interface compatible drives. The connection between the control (MTC-R) and the digital drives (such as DIAX04) uses INDRAMAT IKO 0985 / 0982 fiber optic cables. The ring starts and ends at the control. The optical output of the control (TX) is linked to the optical input of the first drive (RX). Its output is linked to the input of the next drive and so on. The output of the final drive is linked to the input of the control. Each drive has a definite address. This is independent of the position within the fiber optic ring.
